Pickin' on the Square

Held on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays, May 9 to October 10, 2026 (weather permitting).

For over three decades the Town of Franklin, NC has hosted this FREE event at the Gazebo on the Square in Downtown Franklin.

Pickin' on the Square begins at 6:00 p.m. and features free, live musical entertainment each evening. From bluegrass to country and oldies to rock 'n' roll, you are sure to enjoy each great evening of family entertainment during Pickin' on the Square. Bring your lawn chair and come join us in Downtown Franklin!

Come early and enjoy one of our great restaurants. Food vendors also available.

  • July 11 - Blue Jazz (Soul, Rock, Blues and more)
  • July 25 - Alton Lane Band (Classic Rock, Country)
  • August 8 - Tuxedo Junction (Motown, Beach, Swing, Funk)
  • August 22 - Tribe Called Praise (Christian Rock)
  • September 12 - Mission Accomplished (Classic/Southern Rock)
  • September 26 - Paradise 56 (Rock, Blues)
  • October 10 - Carolina 441 (Country, Southern Rock)

Yes. There are food vendors scheduled for each evening that Pickin' on the Square is held. This season's scheduled vendors are in the process of being booked and will be listed very soon. You can also come early and enjoy one of the great restaurants in Downtown Franklin. This information is also posted on our Franklin Events Facebook Page.

Yes. Coolers are allowed; however, alcoholic beverages must be in social district cups with the proper dated stickers. Outside alcohol is not allowed.
