The Town of Franklin, encourages you to join with us in our new Adopt-A-Street initiative. The program is to any business, civic group, church or private resident. By participating in the Adopt-A-Street program, you can make a valuable contribution to the town. You can help make the Town of Franklin better and more beautiful. You can also save money since removing litter is an expensive proposition for you and other taxpaying citizens.

To adopt a street, participants agree to pick up litter for a year or if you sign up for three years you will receive a sign with your name on it along a section of street or road. You will also receive will free traffic vests, trash bags and trash grabbers.

To sign up, just call us at (828) 524-2516. Safety is our first consideration, and it must be yours as well. The Town of Franklin, will work with participants to do all we can to make your experience safe and beneficial.  The video below gives you an overview of safety protocols you should follow as an Adopt-A-Street participant.

Adopt-A-Street Online Application

The Town of Franklin recognizes the need and the desirability for a neat, litter‐free streets and sidewalks. The Adopt‐A‐Street Program has been established for this purpose. As indicated by the electronic signature on this application and the “Adopt‐A Street Commitment” the individual, group or organization and participants, respectively, are aware of the nature of the work which is to be performed and have agreed to follow the Town of Franklin Safety Guidelines and instructions included in the Commitment and agree to pick up liter no less than four (4) times per year along its sections of street to promote a better community and environment.  The application period should be for 1 year minimum, 3 years if you would like a sign. Please contact the Town of Franklin Planning Department if you would like to extend or terminate your commitment.  After each cleanup, please update your statistics by emailing i.e date, amount of participants, bags of litter collected and any photographs to this email address adopt‐a‐street@franklinnc.com.  As indicated by the electronic signatures on this application, the individual, group or organization, through their  authorized representatives, agree to hold the Town of Franklin harmless for any injuries they may suffer or damages that they may cause as a result of participation in the program.
